The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides many opportunities for

at-risk and/or disadvantaged youth to transition into becoming successful, self-sufficient adults.  Under WIOA, WIB-KC provides services to eligible youth ages 14-24.  These services include:

  • Mentoring
  • Tutoring
  • Guidance and Counseling
  • Post-Secondary Transitional Education and Training
  • Supportive Services (including Transportation, Child Care, Disability Accommodations, Assistance with Work-Related Attire, etc.)
  • Occupational Skills Training
  • Leadership Development
  • Job Readiness
  • Community Service
  • Financial Literacy Education
  • Entrepreneurial Skills Training
  • Labor Market Information Services
  • Alternative Secondary School Services
  • Work Experience (Summer Employment, Year-Round Employment, Internship/Job Shadowing, Pre-Apprenticeship Training, On-the-Job Training)
  • Follow-Up Services
