Vision of WIOA
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress, by the One Hundred Thirteen Congress of the United States of America, at the Second Session, on Friday, January 3, 2014, by wide bipartisan majority.
The Workforce and Innovation Opportunity Act amends the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 to strengthen the United States workforce development system though innovation in, and alignment and improvement of, employment, training, and education programs in the United States, and to promote individual and national economic growth, and for other purposes.
WIOA presents an extraordinary opportunity to improve job and career options for our nation’s workers and jobseekers through an integrated, job-driven public workforce system that links diverse talent to businesses. It supports the development of strong, vibrant regional economies where businesses thrive and people want to live and work.
